Dr. Sue,
I'll be starting on Menostar patches this week, probably tomorrow! I've read that the schedule is one Menostar patch applied weekly for 3 weeks followed by 1 week off. Repeat. Is this the same schedule you are using for Menostar?

I'm also prescribed 100 mg of oral progesterone - one capsule every day for 14 days to begin after the first one month of Menostar. I'm not actually sure if the progesterone should be started after 3 weeks or 4 weeks since the Menostar is only used for 3 weeks followed by one week off. No additional progesterone until the next 3 months of Menostar to be applied as above.

Can you tell me more about the 50 mg of progesterone cream you're taking? I'm wondering if this is applied every day or otherwise? Where is this applied? Is this compounded?
Thank you!

I am now taking the compounded progesterone cream every day along with the Menostar patch. My original script was for micronized progesterone in a capsule, but I had difficulty with that. As a matter of fact, I was on the patch alone for 5 months. The Menostar insert recommends progesterone just twice a year for 2 weeks. It sounds like you are trying to follow a normal menstrual cycle. I hope the Menostar works for you.
