I just want to thank everyone in this thread. I’ve been so afraid to start Tymlos, for several reasons, travel and having a normal life being chief among them.
I don’t know why I just have this blockage in my head that this medication will tether me to my home for a prolonged period of time, and I’m trying to push that out of my psyche.
Just knowing several of you have managed the daily routine of this medication - internationally, no less! - has been really beneficial. I’ve had two rheumatologists, and neither has helped me navigate these fears/concerns at all. I’ve felt really down about it.
I know the sooner I start, the sooner I’ll be off of it. I’m just struggling mentally with it.
Ok, I’m crying a little now (frustration with myself, ugh 😢), so I will shake this off, but before I go, thank you again. Truly. 🙏🏻

@beachesanddreams, it is intelligent to be cautious. You could be proud of your diligence.
@beachesanddreams I am going through exctly what you are right now. I have been recommended to stary tymlos as the best option for my severe osteoporosis and am awaitng for the prescription to come through from the doctor as it was approved by my insurance. I am so afraid and hesitant to start this drug as well, and afraid of how it will impact and change my life along with all the possible side effects I may have. I wanted to give it a chance at least and see how I did barring any side effects and impacts (mental and physical) to my life. I have question after question running through my head and this string of questions and answers from everyone has helped me not feel so alone. @beachesanddreams Hang in there. I was the opposite, I was so happy to start something and for me so far so good. Every day I take it is one day closer to keeping my bones protected, and one day less of taking this hormone.
Someone else on here mentioned that they were active after the shot (once ensuring no dizziness, etc.). Follow the prescription instructions and your doctor’s instructions but I will say that worked for me since starting—went and cleared and loaded dishwasher. Waited 30-45 minutes to work out. This is just what has worked for me, follow your own specific instructions! Good luck.
