I had 5 injections of the dye before my wire located lumpectomy. The surgeon marked the spots right above the nipple where the radiologist injected the dye. They injected the dye shortly after they had inserted the wires into the tumor, so I was still numb and didn't feel a thing. I had the best surgeon and caregivers. They took such great care of me.
