One of my knees was unmanageable and exercise did not help but exacerbate my pain and loss of ability. I had a full knee replacement. Wonderful results. 5 and 1/2 years later x-ray checkup....knee looks just as good as it did 5 1/2 years ago. The other knee complete loss of cartilage. Tried hyaluronic acid injection. No improvement. Exercise has worked beautifully.
I understand that the odds of successful stem cell therapy in United states is iffy due to the restrictions here.

I can’t help wondering if some of the restrictions on stem cells are financially or politically driven.
After all, if too many people get better with stem cell treatments and don’t need joint replacements, it will take business away from surgeons and the medical equipment industry. I could imagine both factions being a powerful lobby, like Big Pharma. Not saying all drs are like this, but it does make me think.
