What is the best way to clean around an ileostomy stoma?

I starve myself when take my shower with an ileostomy bag so when I put a new one on it sprays all the place when put new one on.
What do other people do?

@20chermc I’ve heard that if you eat A couple of marshmallows About an hour before changing your bag slows things down. All the best to you.
