I totally understand. I went through the same thing last July and got the news right before my birthday. I was shocked because we don't have cancer in our family, either side. I was on my way to see my son off overseas when I got the phone call. I didn't want to tell anyone and just had to hold it in. Then I just couldn't cry. I was told it was detected early and needed a lumpectomy and radiation, followed with hormone blocker. I was thankful for the news, but just hearing the word cancer can send you in a tailspin, I have to say fear was the hardest thing to deal with before and after. My surgeon was great. My radiation doctor was too. My oncologist doctor is good too, but I just don't feel the same way with him as I do with the other two and have decided to look for another one. I want to feel comfortable with all my doctors. I wish you the best!

@srvtexas I hear ya.... That must have been horrible knowing you were sending off your son. Its like it still doesn't feel real. I'm a person who needs to know the everything and why, how, and what to do to fix it.... It can be a little obsessive at times, but my Oncologist said that knowledge is power... We have to feel comfortable with the decisions we make for our own bodies, genetic history etc... and with our doctors.. So far I'm comfortable, but I havent met the surgeon yet. So we shall see. How did your lumpectomy and radiation go ? Are you doing okay now ?
