This sounds most like a Prolia reaction. Prolia has listed side effects of necrosis of the jaw and osteonecrosis of the external auditory canal (bone death/breakdown in the ear canal.
This may be exaceberated by steriod use, but the Prolia really seems to be the problem.
I am so sorry that you are going thru this reaction. I was lucky I just couldn't take the osteoporosis drugs which we prescribed. My friend who was fracturing and stopped after she began strontium citrate says that we won the bone lottery.
You might try strontium citrate; it is an earth mineral found in most ground water and food; we just take it at therapeutic dose level of 680mg nightly.

@kathleen1314 Hi, Kathleen. Glad u found something which helped. A reference i made about water is i guess i figured it was ground water accessible. … I give myself B12 injections. Dr refuse vit D injections. I asked perhaps at great local veterinary college? Ha! There are some stand alone various infusion ceneters for various health items. I am concerned about quality control. NP said go try it and let her know what happens w the Vit D infusion. No thanks. I did have Thorne Vit D liquid I used which began tomake a difference but cant take enough. In a year ii raised Vit D level few points. From 18 to 22. Not all medical is equal nor available as needed and it is lessened in quality and quantity in some ways. Need to find help elsewhere. @kathleen1314 As I understand it, you are the #1 cheerleader for strontium on Mayo Connect's osteroporosis chat. Yet you also take hrt.
HRT appears to have generally accepted osteroporosis treatment success. So how do you know that you won the 'bone lottery' with strontium if you are being treated with both HRT and strontium?
And if it possible for you to respond without overwhelming cites generated by AI, that would be most helpful.

@kathleen1314 Yes. It was the Prolia w the denosumab in it. I was given oral and injections of steroids and cd feel the sickness from them. I refused to continue them as I react to the steroids with pain, swelling in joints n bones and legs arms hands and wrists. I refused more . I have begun to feel better without the steroids I tapered in 2024 and without more Prolia. Where do you find the water you mentioned? I need B12 and Vit D but do not know where to get D injections. My body doesnt absorb nutients from food nor most medications. My entire body is affected but am most worried about my eye, skull, ears, mouth, jaw, neck, headaches and now my brain. I am afraid. I am 78 yr old lady. Dr here tells me they will not treat me above my neck. Last I knew my head is connected to my body although there is a fence post nearby. My dentist wants me to at least go to Mayo or similar. Very complicated. Thank you for your information….wish you all the best!
