@cheyne Please be careful with the sodium that is probably present in those ham sandwiches! That's something we need to watch when we have kidney disease.

Hi,
As the ham I use is so thin, held up to the light I can count the sodium crystals in it. Being it is shaved ham I guess it must be a close shave at that! I jest. It really is thin slices, not enough to get excited over, but it has taste and smell.
The sodium content of ham certainly is a worry but as it is such a small amount of ham the content is not a problem. Yes better without.
I've got to eat to stay alive before I can begin to worry about my kidneys or anything else going on, first things first. Now I'm just greatful to be able to eat anything that doesn't cause to much pain and reaction. Despite having a high pain tolerance the simple act of drinking a mouthful of water causes sharp pain in the stomach, even my ham sandwich causes pain but it is not so intense which is why I persist with it.
So I have no choice but to mitigate my Diabetes, Cholesterol, Excessive BP and kidneys in order to survive as best I can.
I'm starting to wonder if I'm headed for another bout of SIBO, which is something I get from time to time.
Cheers
