I think the Suparz is at about the same level of effectiveness as the 3-shot visco gel material. If it is the 3 shot regiment, it's probably exactly the same. My plan is costly at $450 because Medicare does not pay any of it, but it is Durolane HLA which is a single shot injection. The mfr claims it will last 6 months, and they have good clinical evidence it will work that way for about 80% of the patients. Now, I'm taking 4 types of oral HLA supplements that are not terribly expensive, but they're helpful because I have a bone-on-bone spot on my left knee that was killing me for a while. Now it does not give me sharp pains, it's more just still tender. Does not keep me awake at night. I did not have a TKR, just arthroscopic surgery on that knee last April. The surgeon screwed me over by cutting a part of my hard cartilage meniscus that was protecting that spot on my knee and making it not bone on bone. He knew what he was doing, he wanted me to get a TKR so he got a lot more buckos out of it. I'm 78 years old, male. I'm not getting a TKR. I'll live with the Durolane HLA single injections. Steroid cortisone pain injections do not do me any good, so very short acting.

@laughlin1947 some people have success with PPR but insurance doesn’t cover it
