Good luck to your brother. Hope all goes well with the surgery. Difficult times for the first few weeks but the body will adjust and he’ll learn how to eat a little differently etc. Each person’s possible complications or after effects of the surgery are so different. My husband had a bad wound infection weeks afterwards and some lung fluid which took time to go away ( is that what people meant by the mucus? Not sure). However all that was temporary. It’s important for him to keep active and try to get up and walk around as soon after the op as they say is possible. Build up small steps each day. Another thing is some people do get depressed in the weeks and months afterwards and that can be problematic for the immune system and motivation ( eating, exercise etc). So keep an eye on that and discuss with the doctor if it happens. My husband’s life now is completely normal and he’s happy, active and working full time since Spring 2024. I feel so grateful and blessed now but I was very scared then so know what you’re going through. Praying all goes well for you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

@ajax2026 Hello, first I want to say that I will pray for you and your husband that his surgery goes well. In my opinion the mucus is similar to a chest cold mucus, except for my husband his is clear mucus that looks like saliva. He ate jello with fruit today and ended up with the mucus and spitting up that he threw the remainder of the jello away. He has good days and bad days with the mucus.
