At my last appointment at NJH, Dr. Griffith recommended I start using the G5 Vibracare Percussor. It is an FDA-Cleared Medical Device, HSA Eligible. The website I ordered from is https://balkowitsch.com/
The description says: "Apply the power of directional stroking to help clear mucus from your airways by triggering cough reflexes allowing for improved airflow."
It's about 3 pounds, so my husband is the one who uses it on my back. I am able to use it on my chest. It cost $500 so it's an investment, but it is helping me bring more sputum up, even with the fact that I started Brinsupri 12 weeks ago. It doesn't pound - it literally vibrates so deeply that I can feel it deep in my lungs. There's an arrow on it that you are supposed to position in the direction you want the mucus to flow. It also has variable speed control.
The biggest disadvantage is the time it takes. The research I did says to leave it in one spot for 5-10 minutes for maximum effectiveness. I usually put it in three to four different spots for 7 minutes each, then use the autogenic app after each time. That has added a lot of time to my airway clearance. But, if it works, it's better than having an exacerbation.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

@pjas972j Thanks for posting! I have one of these from yesteryear and never knew how to use it, so great to read your explanation. Insurance paid for it at the time with some cost sharing under durable equipment.

@pjas972j , It is good to know that it helps you. It should work since it can target a specific spot. I am wondering that 3 pounds seems pretty heavy to hold. Thank you for explaining how you use it.

@pjas972j, I went to the site, it says. 0 pounds. Maybe it changed.
