Glad you posted. I understand your concerns about AIs.
A few thoughts/questions--do you know if any of these breast cancers are genetic? Also, you can ask your oncologist directly what you individual risk is with or without the AI.
And you can start an AI and then try another--or quit--if the side effects are too much. Your oncologist should be a helpful partner in this decision.
Often in forums of this type folks with side effects understandably post more than those who tolerate a medication. You can find good advice on side effects throughout this support group , but maybe you won't need it. I gather that more than half of women on AI have little or no problems. I myself have been on letrozel for 3 1/2 years with no ill effect. For me, it was sort of an experiment rather than a fixed decision. I decided to try it and see how it went.
Wishing you the best with the radiation and then AIs.

Thank you for your response. I did test positive for a gene with breast cancer risk back in 2015 ( Not BRAC 1 or 2 though). It makes sense that those who have not experienced adverse side effects would be less likely to post in the forum. I tend to experience minimal side effects when I have been on medications and hopefully that will continue to be the case when I start the AI. Your comment has been more helpful than you realize. Thank you.
