Hello @peterose
I see that you have had surgery to remove a tumor and now have a narrowed intestinal track and chronic constipation. Constipation after any intestinal tract surgery is a real issue for many of us. I have had three surgeries of the upper digestive tract for a rare form of cancer, and I now have what my GI doctor calls "slow transit constipation." It is a real issue to keep the digestive tract moving after surgery as the landscape of the intestinal tract is changed.
I've found that some foods that are considered healthy (especially raw fruits and veggies) have a negative impact and result in pain, bloating, and exacerbate constipation. I also use OTC products to keep things moving. Some of which have worked for me are Calm (a magnesium supplement I use at bedtime). Magnesium relieves constipation and is a good sleep supplement. In addition, I've used a fiber supplement called Citrucel, which is like Metamucil; however, the fiber is less harsh, causing less pain and bloating. If those do not work, then I resort to a half-dose of Miralax in the evening. I have found that with a slow intestinal tract, everything needs to be taken in small portions, and you need to wait for it to work. Taking too much can result in diarehha which is not a good tradeoff.
I would also like to invite you to a discussion group on eating after digestive tract surgery. I'm sure you will learn a lot from reading others' posts, and you can probably add much to the discussion as well. Here is a link to that discussion group:

I look forward to hearing from you again. Will you continue to post?
