@dederickve, it sounds like you are at your wit's end. It can just grind you down to hear the same question or comment over and over. Answering the question seems futile.

In keeping with the topic of this discussion, what would YOU like to talk about today? What type of conversation stimulates your mind?

@dederickve I understand what you're going through. My wife is similar situation ask the same question over and over saying she can't hear me but it really she just can't comprehend what I say . It gets really frustrating sometimes and sometimes she gets angry at me and violent at times. She doesn't like her life but what do you do? I'm 75 and she's 8 years younger and it's really hard sometimes to think that she should have out lived me but you never know how long she'll last.

Sometimes I can't take it and lose my temper, then I apologize and tell him I'm not upset with him, I'm angry at Dementia.
Controlling my emotions is challenging even when I attempt to be Zen about it, practice gratitude, all the suggestions.
I like watching the Peace Monks videos, that calms me down.
