@severance March, welcome to Connect. There is a lot you can do to work on muscle spasms. I have had a hard knot in my neck for years even with going to physical therapy. I found a massage thing that is shaped like a question mark that allows me to position it on the back side of my neck. It has rubber knobs on the end that create enough friction to push against the skin. I will lay on my back so my body weight assists and use my hands to pull against the pressure of the knob on my neck. I’m doing myofascial release which is a slow way to untwist the knotted fascia within the muscles. I’m careful not to push against the vertebrae bones. If the tissue stays tight, it gets stuck there, and when you loosen it, you can move again and get fluid circulating in the tissue.

@jenniferhunter that? Shaped tool is called a back knobber. I have one I use also.
