@boppi, what is the weather going to be like for you during this Mardi Gras celebration? Much of the country is being thrust into extreme cold temperatures which I know is much more problematic for southern states that aren't built for this kind of extreme cold.

@ocdogmom - you mentioned you "need to celebrate the positives and accept the losses." That is a powerful statement, is this something that needs constant affirmation as each day presents a different challenge?

Mardi Gras pretty much goes on despite the cold. Parades are postponed and resceduled for another day if there is hard rain or high winds due to parade rider safety concerns. Mardi Gras is early this year so if it is cold, we just bundle up and these crazy people just continue to party on🤣.

When I posted my need to celebrate the positives and accept the losses, I was sharing the insight that I have gained from being my husband's caregiver for over 5 years now. Everyday when I wake up, I have a choice to celebrate what my husband can still do that day ( and the fact that he is still here) and I also accept the fact that on that on any given day he will have lost the ability to do something he could do before. This daily attitude adjustment for me has helped me have realistic expectations of what is. It is a daily self care meditation for me.
