19 y female. You and Annie both might go to a chiropractor. Cervicogenic sore throat can be caused by trouble at C1 and C2. It might only take one visit. Sometimes the vertebra get stuck in just a slightly rotated position, usually after we stress the muscles. A massage might help as well it sounds as though you have a muscle knot or adhesion. I first saw a chiropractor when I was a 19y female. Best wishes

@gently and @annieparker51 If you have issues at C1 and C2, please be careful in who you let touch your neck. If there is instability, a chiropractor adjustment could be dangerous or fatal if done wrong. I won’t go to a chiropractor, and I do have C1 and C2 vertebrae that tend to twist. My physical therapist is good at getting it back in place and addressing the muscles that cause the shift. If this is a new problem, it should be evaluated by a specialist before having therapy. This was advice from my physical therapist.
