Well it's very strange. Went on an all day trip with hubby. Took two Imodium after I went in the morning. I had no diarrhea for 5 weeks everything was normal. Ate out no issues went on short day trips no problem. Went once a day sometimes even skipped a day. Now it's back again. Gastroenterologist doc said the Immodium was a crutch that reset my mind from worry. She feels I think and worry making it a reality.

@valarino - hmm ... I would have been a bit surprised if my GI doctor told me a medication I was taking was a crutch to reset my mind from worry. What was your reaction to that, internally or outwardly to the doctor?

You also said the GI doctor said she feels you think and worry, making it (diarrhea) a reality. Was she saying she thinks you are willing the diarrhea into being? What were your thoughts on that comment?

@valarino How can you help but have it on your mind? It rules your life. I have been living like that for ten years with IBS. Doctors have no answers for me. I more recently had two small bowel obstructions two years apart. I was told that when I have the next one (and I will have another) I should have surgery. Supposedly, my obstructions are from scar tissue. My question is if so won't more surgery cause more scar tissue? If I am having Diarrhea and violent cramps tah make me feel like I am going to faint, why would I want to take Miralax? I did what I was told. I ate smaller portions, low fiber diet: no uncooked vegetables or fruit, no wheat, chicken and fish only, nothing gassy. Nothing with skin or strings etc. etc. So my vegetables are green beans, beets and carrots. That was a year ago. I live alone now so the diet is easy for me. I take Miralax (I am down to one heaping teaspoon) every day without fail. I take two gas pills every day, my bathroom habits are normal and I have had very few symptoms. When I do it is after eating a large meal or fatty food or something I know I shouldn't eat like onions and/or garlic. who can cook without onions and garlic? I am still cautious of going out and am always waiting for the next shoe to fall but life is much less stressful. I actually went out to a restaurant last week with my family and had no symptoms at all.
