My father's hot water has been set too high for years. He has dementia now and I did not realize how hot it was and I don't want it to burn him. Is 130° to best top heat temp even in his case and does anyone know how to physically turn this down on his water heater in the basement?

@jendisney7 The water heater should have a gauge of some kind. Mine doesn’t have temps but letters. B is the 130 degree mark, I am assuming, and I go down to “A” every two weeks. If his water heater has no gauge, call the manufacturer to get information.
