My feeding tube came out no problem. Then after a few days I started to get really bad mucus and lymphedema. Which is making it hard to eat and swallow. And the bad taste in mouth isn't helping my Appitie. I have some minor pain in my back teeth and ear. I also have a xray swallow test today. And my 3 month pet scan next week

@mxblaster83 You're doing great even though you might not think so now. Hang in there, because you're on the road to recovery! Take care!

@mxblaster83 It sounds like your medical team is on top of your issues. I know many patients benefit from speech therapy for swallowing problems. When you look back on this time a year from now, you will see how far you have come. Your new normal will have some changes for sure, but you will be alive and cancer free. It helps to make some short term goals and as they are achieved you can reach for more. Your trip may be one of those. Stay positive and know that it all gets better with time. I am 13 years from my radiation/chemo and alive. For motivation I recommend a book by a Mayo Clinic Palliative care doctor, Ed Creagan. How NOT To Be My Patient is something every cancer patient should read with excellent suggestions for prolonging your life.
