I was just diagnosed with Squamous cancer cell on my right cheek. I am 89 years old and a widow. So I am not too concerned about dying. But I prefer not to have a deep scar on my cheek while alive.
Anyone knows how long the after surgery wound takes to heal. My biopsy is 8 days old and still has a scab. God bless you all🙏🙏🙏

@minervita Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect!

I think you might want to look back on other procedures you have had and the length of time to heal that those may have taken? It sounds like your dermatologist is considering a MOHS procedure. What do they say?

I had MOHS surgery on cheek. Scar was long but it healed much more quickly than MOHS surgery in an area with thin skin. The surgery area was a bit pronounced for a few weeks but healed well. It was about a 4 inch long incision. Please do not delay treatment.
