I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma in August, 2023 and had a total thyroidectomy in October, 2023. 4.4cm nodule in right thyroid lobe, encapsulated, no lymph involvement. Thyroid bed clear after surgery. Had an ultrasound November, 2025 that noted a nonspecific 5mm nodule in right thyroid bed. Stressing about what this means because I was told I was low risk for recurrence and it could be scar tissue. I also had a low dose of RAI in April 2024. I thought that was supposed to get rid of any remnants of tissue and cells? Finding it hard to wait until May, 2026 for next ultrasound.

@gigimama, waiting is the hardest part of testing. I'm glad that you are at low risk for recurrence. Did your doctor tell you what the nodule might mean? Did you ask for an earlier appointment?
