How long after stopping Orgovyx did you notice a difference?

Posted by tjv1156 @tjv1156, Oct 5, 2025

I just got off Orgovyx . One of the benefits of Orgovyx is supposed to be quicker testosterone recovery. How long can I expect the hot flashes to stop and my energy to return?

I am 90 days post Orgovyx + IMRT + HDR and I still have fatigue in extremely hot days. I never really had noticeable hot flashes. Not sure where my testosterone is at this point. Getting new blood work in Jan

@capatov Did you have your January blood work done already? How was it? You are about 180 days off Orgovyx by now, over three months ahead of me.

Yes I just had my first official post treatment blood work and I am pleased to report PSA stands at .1 (down from 7.1). My testosterone is still recovering and is only at 154.

I have to say I feel back to my pre-diagnosis normal. Never really had any incontinence, impotence, pain, bleeding or hot flashes.

Thanks for asking…stay healthy!

I bounced from a T of 5 to 208 in 2 months after Orgovyx. Had the first glimpse of recovery at about 3 weeks and progressed from there. At 6 months I am still T 208. I was a low T guy starting ADT at 230 so guessing this is my new normal.

I'm hoping to be off Orgovyx in another 5 weeks and am encouraged by the replies here. Is there an explanation of the physiological process that makes Orgovyx so often cause hot flushes? Is there anything OTC that would help reduce them. I've kept up my exercise regimen and haven't gained much weight although it fluctuates depending on how active I am.

It’s the low testosterone that causes the hot flash not Orgovyx. Some people say that eating tofu every day reduces the hot flashes. Tofu has a something in it that has that effect if you eat enough of it. I got depo-provera shots to stop them. Some people say black cohosh will do it, other people say it didn’t help them.

I’ve been on ADT for eight years and never gained weight as a result. Weighing yourself regularly and eating based on what you weigh really helps. Exercise makes a difference as well.

Info on recovery time

In the HERO study, relugolix demonstrated sustained testosterone suppression superior to that of leuprolide acetate (97% vs 89%; difference 7.9% [95% confidence interval, 4.1–12%; p < 0.001]).

Men (N = 934) were randomized (2:1) to receive relugolix 120 mg orally daily or leuprolide acetate injections every 12 wk for 48 wk.

Overall, 74 of the 137 men in the relugolix cohort recovered to testosterone >280 ng/dl, with a median time to recovery of 86.0 d (95% CI, 65.0–92.0), versus two of the 47 men in the leuprolide cohort, with a median time to recovery of 112.0 d
