Anyone else have an AUS inserted and then had to have it removed due to device infection? How did the healing of your incisions go after having to be reopened?

@mirsy, Did you have have the surgery to remove the artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) removed? How are you doing?

My husband had the surgery to remove the AUS about 2 weeks ago. He just came home yesterday after 2 weeks in the hospital w a supra pubic catheter and a foley and 2 drains. Sure wish he had never had the AUS put in. I think it will take him quite awhile to recover from this as he is very weak and tired. The urologist is thinking he will end up with just the supra pubic catheter. Anyone out there with experience with a supra pubic catheter? Is it easier to manage than a foley? Thanks for your help!
