Orgovyx aftermath

Posted by jeepio @jeepio, Jan 12 7:03am

Before and during Radiation I took Orgovyx for six months and decided the side effects ( especially the ones effecting my brain health causing depression) were too much. I’ve been off it now for about a month and feeling somewhat better regarding mood swings but still experiencing occasional cramps in my right leg and sudden knee pains,as well as joint pains and stiffness and low muscle strength ( I know I need to build self discipline and start exercising more) I’m wondering how long the effects of Orgovyx will linger normally although I realize everyone’s experience is different. Oh,and mr.Happy has been non existent for almost a year now, although his attendance was already pretty spotty before diagnosis. I’m 74 and have a 12 year younger wife who is frustrated. ( no thanks, volunteers are not being considered 😊) Your sharing of experiences will be appreciated. Wishing strength and positive energy to all of you

I was on Orgovx for one year. My intense joint pain took 18 months to dissipate. As far as marital relations go, my wife and I have been able to find ways to physically enjoy each other without intercourse. It took a bit of experimentation and time. I encourage others to be open and explore the possibilities.

@ededed I have wanted to be more sensitive to my wife’s needs, and fortunately she’s been patient and supportive. My issues are a combination of ED, low libido, and fatigue. When we’re in bed at the end of the day, I’m pretty exhausted. I’ve got six more months on Orgovyx….

I have all of the same issues. My wife and I set a day and time for our date! Then we are not asking ourselves, "Is tonight the night?" Also I don't have expectations that it will be like the old days, but I do expect we will both enjoy each other. One more thing, medical marijuana (edibles) helps with my mood.

My experience, albeit a study of one...

I did 12 months of Orgovyx in conjunction with SBRT.

Side effects while on Orgovyx
Fatigue
Muscle and Joint stiffness
Genitalia Shrinkage
Weight Gain
Hot flashes

I did not lose my libido nor experience depression

After about three weeks, the fatigue and muscle stiffness went away.
Hot flashes, like fat cells, refused to die, took about three months.
My weight had gone from 191 to 209, took me about a year, down to 185
The genitali shrinkage was "resolved" around the three-month point.

I was 67 when I started the 12 months of Orgovyx, baseline T was 600+

@kujhawk1978 yep- same here..genital shrinkage ( not too much shrink but noticeable) fatigue-again not too bad but some days are very noticeable) hot flashes..more at night..not too severe- they last less than 5 minutes, body aches..same thing..transient..mood and depression..very occasional..but I getbusy with something and move past it..

I have at least another year of orgovyx/nubeqa..but just try to do 1 day at a time..it got my PSA down to zero very quickly.
