I have two vertebral fractures T8 and T9 and I have lost quite a few inches in height due to other apparently older wedge shaped vertebrae. Until about 2 years ago I used to have a waist but now have the protruding belly. I am 83. Early on after the fractures I found I just feel better with a wide elastic (black) around the under rib area (it seems to keep my innards more in place). I got the "broken rib brace" on Amazon and like that it is black because it looks more like a clothing item than a medical device. I can wear it under or over my clothing, placing it a little lower than my ribs. For part of the day I also use a LSO brace. Advised not to use it a lot but it just helps me have more energy and know which way is up when walking or standing. It gives me a touch point on the back to stand as straight as possible. Have been told I have severe osteoporosis and hope to avoid using the bone meds. I am on BHRT--hoping it will help along with exercise, supplements and more protein.

@marjoram2 I have osteoporosis and scoliosis, one wedge shaped vertebrae, and no waist, but I can recreate my waist if I stand correctly as my PT has advised. I notice you are taking BHRT. Have you been taking BHRT for some years or have you just started? I would like to start that as well.
