I had & have terrible knee & leg pain. Talked to my doctor today, and stopping it, what would be my 4th shot today. I had Lipitor, 20 mg, a long time, and seemed ok on that but my doctor thought I needed stronger or different med to fight cholesterol. I came on here to look up the half life of the drug, cause still experiencing pain. I am starting to be concerned, that maybe the knee & leg pain could be from something else, but I just stopped it today.

Darn, @ennyl14
I notice other comments around Connect consistent with my doctors advice to stay off Repatha about 3 months. @gloaming posted some good information that may help answer your question. https://www.drugs.com/medical-answers/long-repatha-side-effects-3551518/

I am tagging @mrkoos and @cawiegand because they have mentioned joint and muscle pain possibly from taking Repatha. They may have more information now that more time has passed. Also, @bethrva originally created this discussion and may have more to add.

I am not a medical person, just my own experience taking medications to lower my cholesterol. I took Lipitor since my 20’s until I started having problems about 20 years ago. I believe I’ve tried everything and recently found a combination of drugs that work, and I am even back on Lipitor. I have learned a little bit of several drugs that each work differently seems to work while minimizing side effects. This may be something to ask your doctor.

The best thing you may want to do now is be intentional about lifestyle, super helpful and totally what is within your control. What does your diet and activity look like?
