Thank you so much Champ for your very kind words!
I first got sober in 2003. After 4.5 years I relapsed and it wasn't until 2011 that I made it back and have been sober since.
And somehow during my life and before sobriety I ran about 25 marathons and had a very successful career. I highlight that because it's amazing what an addict can do and still function, although that eventually goes away.
I sponsor three guys currently and they, in turn, help me stay sober. Whether it's addiction or fitness, I encourage others to never quit. Our darkest moments are hard, and our thoughts can turn to the worst - but prevailing brings the greatest of joy.
