What were your early symptoms before diagnosed with a Parotid Tumor?

Mayo Scottsdale is the most amazing and you are in excellent hands! I had HPVSCC and Dr Entazami did my surgery. He is wonderful! His team is wonderful. Mayo gave me options and after months and months of missed diagnosis- I found my angels at Mayo. I had a tumor on my carotid artery and had it removed locally. Once they biopsy the tumor- they couldn’t tell me where the cancer came from and wanted to do chemo and radiation- on a cancer they couldn’t tell not find. Take a deep breath and do NOT rush into anything. TORS surgery and a double neck dissection was performed. Was it fun….no but I am 5 months out and recovering and my team made sure I had everything I needed. I am so happy with my decision. Not for everyone but Mayo will listen to all of your concerns. You can do this. Stay strong in your beliefs. Jesus holds my hand everyday.

@wfili Mine is a Parotid Gland Tumor. You state carotid. Which did you have?

@wfili Thank you so much for sharing. I am nervous but have put this in God's hands. I'm more anxious than anything because I was ready for my appointment on Jan 6th but when it got rescheduled, It deflated my a bit. I just want to start the process now and get some answers. I have stopped researching as there is not much more I can learn until a diagnosis is made. I completely trust Mayo and am so fortunate to live near them to have the opportunity to be in their care. I will update once I have my appointment on Feb. 5th and know more. Hoping for the best but prepared for less than that. May God have his healing hands over you and praying for a continued recovery.
