The oncologist said that she did not believe that it was related to lymphedema. I apparently got a cellulitis infection when the hand orthopedist inserted a needle into my finger joint to withdraw fluid from a mucin cyst. I have a primary immune disease CVID and that probably played a part in how bad the infection got. Luckily, I didn't need to have surgery on my hand so that's a good thing. I still have a mucin cyst in my finger joint; however it is no longer infected.
