Hi, I have NTM and Bronchiectasis diagnosed in July 2025. I am on the Big 3 and nebulize Albuterol and 7% saline. I recently purchased the eRapid nebulizer and I can’t seem to use it without coughing excessively. It takes me more time than my old machine because I have to stop every breath to cough and it leaves me with a sore throat and chest irritation. Would it help to try 3% saline? If so, where can I buy this? Any other suggestions to help this it work? Thanks.

@susannesemann Have you tried using an albuterol puffer 10 mins prior to nebbing 7% saline? The idea is that the albuterol opens things up so lungs are not as irritated by the hypertonic saline. Even with a puffer, I stop the eFlow multiple times during nebbing. I use these pauses as an opportunity to huff cough, thus clearing my lungs during the nebbing process and not only afterwards. Overall, these frequent stops punctuated with huffs help to speed up my clearance process.

@susannesemann I am exactly the same. I cough really bad when nebulizing 7% with erapid but 3% is fine- check. I tried also nebulizing 7% with levalbuterol using erapid and it seems to work better- less cough but since I am supposed to use 7% , erapid although rapid, is not often used-I try from time to time hoping I get used to it,
