I had extreme pain after my robotic surgery for my prostatectomy . I did not know at the time, that the pain pills they were giving me , were giving me constipation. And that was giving me pain as well. After about a week we finally straightened things out. I just took Tylenol after that. My system won’t tolerate prescription pain medication.

The trick with opioids is to only take them at night so you can sleep. That way you don’t become dependent on them, And they caused less constipation.
To prevent the constipation take MiraLAX in the morning. Also Take two Colace pills twice a day and at least one senna pill twice a day.
That’s always worked for me.
