Anyone else doing OsteoStrong and AlgaeCal with Strontium?
I had three doses of Fosamax in June, 2024. After the third dose I developed ilial tibial band syndrome--probably the worst pain I've had since childbirth! Mercifully, it disappeared soon after and I never took another dose. In researching non-drug options I came across OsteoStrong and AlgaeCal with Strontium. I started both about 15 months ago. In May, 2024 my lumbar spine was -4.1. Now it is -2.9. Left hip has improved from -2.6 to -2.0--in 15 months. My endocrinologist is STILL pushing Reclast! I'd appreciate thoughts from you all, please.

@karenolivia47 congrats on your improvements! Very exciting. To speak to the efficacy of your approach - OsteoStrong acts like a building permit within the body and the Calcium/Supplements would be the building supplies. They both have important roles to play in your bone health improvement journey!

Thanks for your note. I like your analogy of building permits and supplies!

1 ReactionMy score is -4.3. My endo doctor put me on Tymlos without explaining the dangerous side effects. After much of my own research, I decided on Osteostrong in combination with OsteoCal plus and Strontium. Your comments gave me hope. Next scan not due for another 2 years so I will work hard on this more natural method and will comment on my results
then.

Those -4's are scary numbers, right? My endocrinologist ordered the two-year DEXA at 15 months after I did a lot of whining and sniveling about needing to know if the AlgaeCal Plus and OsteoStrong I'd been doing were really working. Thankfully the results were good. I'd made a deal with her that if they were not improved I'd consider Reclast. Such a relief! One thing to mention--I had a serum calcium drawn recently as part of a panel for another issue. My calcium levels were at the very top end of normal so that bears watching.
