Could this be chronic pancreatitis?

I've been bed ridden since Dec 12 from gastro issues: unable to eat, sleep, epigastric pain that radiates to back, unintentional weight loss of 12 lbs. My GP advised Pepto & now I'm finishing prednisone to no avail.

My gallbladder was removed Oct 2013. Then in Dec I had sludge in my common bile duct removed via an ERCP which caused sepsis.

This flare is reminiscent of that time but my labs all come back normal.

I'm not emergent but could use some advice. What has helped your symptoms?

@mcwifey This sounds very difficult for you. My experience was a bit different and it took a long time to get the help I needed. The neurologist thought that I had an allergy to the #1 medication for my autoimmune disease. The gastroenterologist said that it was exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. He was correct but he was also a bit too big for himself. Once I changed GI doctors, I started to get better. So, what does my story have to do with your question? Well I think you need to get a GOOD gastroenterologists. If you’ve only been treated by your GP, it’s not adequate. You’re still sick. It’s time for a new start. Now, let’s let some members come in and tell you what worked for them

The right gastro doctor is key, I have chronic pancreatis and my Dr is awsome my cousin who has epi had horrible Dr gave her lots prednisone which didn't work then told her to take creon but wrong dose she finally went to my Dr and is feeling much better! That's why I say the right Dr is key!
