I am just starting my breast cancer journey. I had a double mastectomy 4 weeks ago. They removed 14 lymph nodes, 2 sentinel nodes were positive, all others are negative. All my margins were clear over 2mm. My LVI on my pathology indicates present and extensive. I have appointments scheduled with both radiation and hematology oncologist. My follow up with the breast surgeon is tomorrow and I hopefully will get my octotype number then.

@rgleclerc welcome to connect, here we can share with other patients and caregivers. Support and educate each other.
The breast cancer group is the best club you never wanted to join. This conversation has a couple of great helpers, @californiazebra @resort and @vivi1 just to name a few.
You have already been through a lot, with more to come. How are you doing?

@rgleclerc
Are you healing well after the mastectomy? Ask for physical therapy when you’re well enough to get your range of motion back and to prevent lymphedema. I had my bilateral mastectomy a year ago. It took me more than 2 months to feel better. Hugs.
