@pb50 I am thinking of Alzheimer’s as being like “cancer”. There are likely many different types (multiple different genetic drivers, environmental and lifestyle components). As a result, there will have to be different treatment strategies. Right now, understanding is pretty primitive. We can only hope that Lithium will have a positive treatment effect on whatever type of AD we have. Just as with cancer, we don’t have the luxury of waiting and we need to be proactive in trying scientifically backed, but still unapproved therapies.
