I would say that I am lean & limber. I'm 54 years old and was diagnosed with PMR & type 2 diabetes in June. I weigh 115 pounds and have never been overweight (thanks Mom & Dad for the genes). I hope this helps with PMR/obesity question!

I was lean until prednisone was started because that was when I rapidly gained more than 50 pounds. I was a well built muscular male and 50 pounds didn't seem like much until I lost all of my muscles.

I don't like the genes that I inherited but I can't do anything about that. I was predisposed to autoimmune conditions because of HLA-B27. Being positive for that gene isn't always a problem until you start to have problems.

Unfortunately ... once an autoimmune disorder starts ... you are at a higher risk of having more than one. At least I haven't acquired diabetes but that runs in the family.
