As someone else asked, have you considered an anabolic medication? You mention you are seeing your PCP about your osteoporosis. I’d recommend asking your PCP for a referral to an endocrinologist specializing in metabolic bone diseases instead before you start Prolia.

Prolia has a risk of rebound fractures if you have to stop it. The protocol for stopping it includes going on a bisphosphonate which you don’t want to do. An endocrinologist can help you carefully weigh all the options. If you have heart disease, you’d see a cardiologist so it makes sense that should see a specialist for this disease as well.

Yep. I agree and make sure that you are asking for a treatment plan with the doctors rational for the steps in the plan.

@oopsiedaisy why don’t I want a bisphosphanate?
