Thank you for this! I am currently reading "Grace for the Unexpected Journey: A 60-Day Devotional for Alzheimer's and Other Dementia Caregivers" by Deborah Barr. It is helping me to see my circumstances from a different perspective.

Speaking of perspective, I recently read a book by Samuel Linton titled "Better Than Reason: Finding God's Unexpected Path to Purpose." It helped me shift my questioning from "why?" to "What purpose can I find in this?"

@callmegram Thank you for your comment regarding “purpose”…the “why?” has been my question too. Perhaps reading the book you referred to will help me as well.

I like the idea of finding purpose in responding positively to the challenge of caregiving for my husband with dementia. I don't question "why" anymore. It is what it is. I didn't cause it, I can't change it, I can't cure it. I choose to accept it and learn positive ways to deal with the challenges while also taking care of myself. Blessings to all who walk this path with their loved ones.

I just finished reading "The Long Goodbye," by Patti Davis , Ronald Reagan's daughter. Regardless of what you think of Reagan as a politician, it is hard to dispute his daughter's memories of him as a decent man who had a deep faith in God and humanity. I found the book uplighting.
