Thanks!

I had the iodinized version of SpaceOAR - called SpaceOAR Vue - injected (in April 2021) in preparation for my 28 proton radiation treatments.

SpaceOAR Vue contains approximately 1% iodine bound to the hydrogel to be more visible under CT scan.

I had SpaceOar but my treatments were delayed a few weeks, and the barrier gel may have begun dissolving prior to treatments ending. Technicians didn’t mention any issues, but diarrhea that started during pelvic radiation has continued 8 months later, and I may be experiencing radiation proctitis. A gastroenterologist is working with me. That said, be careful with scheduling.
