@maryje Thanks for the reply, that was very insightful, and objective ( to me).
I never knew that GP's were contacted concerning patients going into surgery. I've had a few surgeries in the past, mainly for injuries or broken bones. In the past I've only dealt with doctors because of major issues. Maybe that's why my present GP ( for 3 years now), mentioned, "they have no history on me".
I am just starting to understand the processes of dealing with doctors, and hospitals, while trying to be my own advocate.
That has given me ideas for questions, at my next visit.
I used to view medical system's doctors as authority figures, who could not be questioned . I'm not that way anymore.
