Blood pressure issues while on prednisone?

I was taking BP meds before pmr. My pcp says I have labile hypertension. It fluctuates for various reasons. The last year I seem to have adjusted my BP meds to where it seems stable. The cardiologist told me the goal is for the top number to be less than 140. The endocrinologist told me not to take both meds in the morning. She thought that was overloading my system. I take 50mg metoprolol at breakfast, 50mg losartan at dinner, 25mg losartan in the evening. I take my BP right before dinner, right before I take the losartan and it's almost always less than 140. When I have tried to get the top number lower, the bottom number goes too low.

I have a problem with the top number as well particularly now that I am on prednisone. I have doubled my Losartin and doubled my metoprolol. I was told to take 50 mg losartin after breakfast because my high numbers were in the late afternoon and evening. So in the evening I take 50 mg of metoprolol. Monitor my pressure first thing in the morning and in the evening.
If my numbers stay below 150 I consider it a success.
It’s a battle to find a happy medium and to find the right formula. Our body’s response fluctuates so much that’s it’s hard to predict a good outcome.
