It’s probably been going on for about two years now. The salty taste tends to overpower anything sweet, so I end up eating more sweet foods just to balance it out, which obviously goes against the advice to cut back on sugar.

@autumn1917 Yes, I understand just trying to balance out the taste. I received some candy for the holidays and knew I shouldn't eat them but they help at the time. It's after I eat them that the taste goes right back to salty or sometimes bitter but recently it's been salty again. I get these assorted crackers at Aldi that are not very salty and they really mask the salty taste at the time and I would eat those as my only meal if I could. They taste good at the time and don't overwhelm the salty taste but of course I can't just eat those. For some reason Asian food does not agree with my taste at all. I think there are just too many flavors. Does your tongue look normal? Mine is always red and inflamed on the front part. I've shown the dentist and she doesn't seem to feel that it's that abnormal but I think it's gotten worse so I'll see her next month and see what she says......
