I had to stop Prednisone and anti-inflamnatories about a year ago due to other medical reasons. Started on anti-inflamnatory diet fron Harvard, helped a lot. Took a lot of supplements, but only now discovered a drug that really makes a difference: Dapagliflozin (Forxiga). I take metformin for prediabetes, 1g twice daily. Read about Forxiga on Medscape, I now take 5mg at night, makes a huge difference. Reduced Metformin dose to 500mg twice a day. I also take Tylenol arthritis 1 at night.
Combination is helping a lot.

Forxiga (dapagliflozin) is a first-in-class SGLT2 inhibitor, a type of oral medication that helps the kidneys remove excess sugar from the body. I can see how it would help control inflammation.

I'm on Wegovy (semaglutide) a GLP-1 receptor agonist to treat my weight gain caused by Prednisone. I lost 30 pounds on Wegovy. Now my endocrinologist is considering Zepbound to see if it would offer some additional benefits.

I took Prednisone for 12 years for PMR. After a biologic called Actemra allowed me to taper off Prednisone, I haven't needed any Prednisone for 5 years. Now an endocrinologist is trying to reverse my metabolic syndrome caused by Prednisone.
