No expert, yes, long term benzodiazepines are a problem. But now is the time you need them just to function day to day. So take them as recommended while at same time strategizing to get off as you get a hold of yourself. Suggest family pound sand.

Youre VERY right, telling fam to pound sand (into a rat hole). When I flat out told my primary care dr I didnt want to take any 'shrink meds', he asked if I would use insulin if I was a diabetic. Answered, 'of course I would'. He said this isnt much different, that I have a chemical imbalance of serotonin, much like diabetics have an imbalance of insulin.
