Hello..I am also stage 4 metastatic prostrate cancer. I began treatment three years ago with my “surgeon” performing a cryogenic procedure on my small tumor in my prostrate. My PSA AFTER 6 months indicated 27 so we decided to do another cryogenic procedure on my tumor! Waited 6 months and psa showed under 4 and this surgeon “guaranteed” he had killed the tumor! Then “comeback and see me in 6 mos” then m PSA showed I was at 11 he said I was still hot and “you are stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer” report to Oncology!!
Needless to say I was super upset as he had guaranteed the tumor was dead! Then I find out in January of 2025 I was a stage 4 metastatic prostrate patient !! Dark days ….I went to Oncology was assigned to a fantastic Oncology team. They started me on ORGOVYX and ZYTIGA plus 9 weeks M-F radiation !!! My blood tests have indicated the two drugs are controlling my cancer the last test indicated that my PSA was 0.031 so things seem to be getting better. I was told that I would be on ORGOVYX least two years and they are monitoring the ZYTIGA combination . Other than some of the side effects currently things aren’t too bad everyday intake 125 mg ORGOVYX then 1000 mg ZYTIGA , prednisone and a drugs to help with the hot flashes. So I guess I will have to play the waiting game and go to mass! The drugs do control the spread to other organs so far !

It’s really disappointing to hear you what that doctor did to you. Therapy like Your cryogenic procedure have not been proven to be effective over the long-term. If you had surgery or radiation, as the initial procedure, you probably would not have become stage four, At least for many more years if it wasn’t effective.

This should be a warning for other people reading your message. Don’t rely on the doctor using focal therapy being the final solution. If your cancer comes back, get it treated properly don’t go for another focal procedure. As I already said, those procedures have not been shown to be effective over the long-term.

@tazman482 have or will you be having radiation as well?
