Are you near to any Memorial Sloan Kettering? They take all insurances and also have a financial assistance program.

That's not my experience. I called them about a second opinion when I had the cheapest insurance from the PA Obamacare exchange. They certainly don't take that, and said it would cost me at least $5000. Um, no.

Later I got the most expensive plan on the exchange, and that got me in the door, but it still cost me over $1000 out of pocket (and I was very underwhelmed by the oncologist I saw. They also redid the pathology, for which I also paid, and actually got part of it wrong, where my original hospital was right. Call me unimpressed.)
