Hello Yvetteh, im curious to know if your nausea ever subsided after your GP and nutritionist visit. And recommend Pepcid. Please advise.

Your experience sounded alot like ny husband's. He has a permanent ileostomy for about a 1 and 1/2 now. However hes been dealing with intermittent nausea everyday for the past 2 weeks. His GP doesn't seem to have an answer so far. But he has his annual visit to his Ostomy Dr's team coming up in February.. We too are praying it doesn't last until then.

Did any one thing finally work for you?

@stefali I’m exactly 2 years this week for my ileostomy and my nausea is pretty well controlled now by rotating Pepsid AC (over the counter) and the prescription medication, Omeprazole. The silent “reflux” is just as described. I don’t feel any reflux but all 3 of my medical specialists agreed with the treatment and it’s working. I take Omeprazole for 2 weeks then Pepsid for 2 weeks and it’s worked well for me the past 9 months after sticking to this regiment. I still occasionally get nausea but it’s been very infrequent this year. My ostomy nutritionist diagnosed it first and after seeing both my GP and my wonderful gastro dr., they all agreed on what I should do. I hope this helps! Yvette
