I had a similar condition with acid reflux where I would only have nausea, which is likely a more pronounced form of reflux. My doc put me on a PPI which "cured" the nausea and gave me a nice break for about 18 months. I'm currently tapering off the PPI (Protonix) and am only having a little reflux which is tolerable. I'm using all the usual OTC products including Alka-Seltzer. I still have to avoid rich foods, coffee, and I never take NSAIDS, which caused this. It's important to say that I do not recommend taking a proton pump inhibitor for very long. The side effects include fractures, neuromas, and dementia.
