Thanks for your input. I do understand how you feel. It seems that so many foods, beverages, activities are off limits with the older and more unwell we become. Sticking to the healthiest foods we can figure out is good though as well as striving to live our best moments every day. It's not always easy, is it? Sorry about your undergoing stage 4 prostate cancer. How are you doing with it and the myriad of things going on? When you choose the foods closest and easiest to make, do you go with freezer meals or make something at home? If freezer meals, which options have you found that works best for you? Have a great day.

@happilyalive, it's not always easy or convenient to cook, so I ordered some frozen prepared kidney diet meals from Magic Kitchen. They are pricey, but I think well worth it. My husband is a picky eater, and he likes the stuffed shells and the meatloaf meals. I bought some other meals from them that he hasn't tried yet, but so far, so good. I think it's a nice alternative for us at this time, since we are new at this and have a lot to learn. Although many days I feel like chebo1954, there has to be some good quality to life, and some days just feel like giving up and ordering a big pizza.
